Welcome Home, Mrs. Roosevelt / by Dave Hileman

In the late 1920’s this house was built for Eleanor and two of her friends, called the Stone Cottage. It is on the land of the Roosevelt estate in Hyde Park, NY. She used this cottage for a bit and then built a factory on the property for local men to produce wood furniture. Later, after FDR died she converted the now unused building into her home and the Stone Cottage was used by her friends.
