Tracks East / by Dave Hileman

I took this photo in “Old Town” Knoxville on an overpass looking east. This is the old main line through town but not the only one as there is another passenger station about six blocks away for a different line. Railways were once a prime mover of people in the US but not many people’s first choice today. The US system gave way to the automobile and the trains slowly limited or stopped passenger service in much of the country. It is available in many places but Knoxville in not one of those.
