This photo has a bit of an Audobon aspect to it. If you have ever seen one of the original portfolios of Audubon’s prints of American birds, perhaps it will appear that way to you as well. He often showed the bird in a natural setting but simplified frequently to a common plant or selection that represented the bird’s habitat and a neutral background were in most of his prints. This bird was photographed in Montana.
